This is a two album set covering the second part of my career, full of my most popular tracks from my 6th through 9th CDs which are all out of print. It has 32 tracks, including "Grease Wars", "You Don't Know Jack", "Battlestar Rhapsody", "BACON!", "My Favorite Part", "Vader Boy", "Too Much Stuff", and many more that made Dr. Demento's Funny Five and year-end countdowns. It's over 2 1/2 hours of music, an excellent continuation of the comedy music career of the great Luke Ski.
Note: This collection actually was released on March 9th, 2015, but I listed it here as August 14th, 2009 because that's where the written material on this collection fits within my career chronologically.
Includes unlimited streaming of Greatest Hits Volume 2: 2004-2009
via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.
This parody of Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out For A Hero" is about the popular NBC sci-fi show "Heroes", centering around the character Hiro Nakamura. This song was forged by the combined superhuman musical abilites of Carrie Dahlby on lead and background vocals, Jared Ringold of Possible Oscar on music, engineering and mixing, and ShoEboX of Worm Quartet on the Jim Steinman-y keyboards. My thanks and appreciation to them is so immense in size, it could cause an eclipse, just like the one seen in the opening credits of "Heroes". Everyone who comments to this song must end their comment by telling us what their super power is. My super power is my uncanny ability to subliminally suggest that people request for Dr. Demento play this song at www.clamhead.com/drd.php !
I need Hiro! (Nathan: Vote Petrelli!)
I'm holding out for Hiro to bring order to things,
So that five years from now,
There's no fascists in power,
So behind the scenes he's pulling the strings.
I need Hiro!
Here comes the father of Hiro, and he's almost retired.
His company's big,
So he'll sensei his kid,
But if Hiro fails, he's gonna get fired. (Sulu: You're going to get FIRED!) (SFX: Trek Photon torpedos)
I need Hiro!
Officer Parkman brought donuts, must have read my mind!
Hiro: In the next 9th Wonders comic book, Isaac shows me killing Sylar!
Ando: So you have the new issue?
Hiro: No, I read about it in Wizard Magazine.
Ando: Oh!
Out in Las Vegas on an internet site,
A struggling mother strips for a fee,
But make her mad, and the fatal spankings
Are for free. (Niki: You wouldn't like me when I'm angry)
The Bennets are always on the run.
Will Claire go to her prom?
Some say Peter is cool,
Could you say, he's 'the bomb?'
Hiro & Ando: Literally 'the bomb'?
Background vocalists:
Is he lit' - 'trally the bomb?!
Is he lit' - 'trally the bomb?!
Is he lit' - 'trally the bomb?!
Is he lit' - 'trally the booooooooomb?! (SFX: Huge explosion!)
I need Hiro!
He's heading to the Big Apple at the end of the road.
To face a psycho Spock,
Who will clean out your clock
Just to get at your genetic code.
I need Hiro!
I'm holding out that soon Hiro faces destiny.
At the comic book's end,
Sylar dies on his sword,
Like some DC/Marvel prophecy.
I need Hiro!
I'm holding out for Hiro's graphic novelty.
(8 measures w/ vocalists singing "Oooh ooh ooh")
Ando: Hiro, why are we speaking in English right now instead of in Japanese?
Hiro: Because in audio format, nobody can read subtitles. So we must speak in broken English, as if we
were in a Japanese comic book.
Ando: So we are MANGA-ling the English language?
Hiro: In a matter of speaking, hai.
Ando: Ahh.
